Pretty Purse

bubbling to: Mean Sleep (feat. Nikka Costa) by Van Hunt

I found this pretty purse pattern through allcrafts.net’s blog, posted to the Secret Workshop.

I’ve always loved bags, and when I was a teenager I used to make all kinds of them for fun. Seeing this reminded me of a purse I made that I wore to bits when I was seventeen.

This pattern is very easy to do, and because you can make it with just about any fabric, and embellish how you like, they make nice gifts, or gift bags. I’m thinking about doing a few as gifts for my girlfriends.

Little Star

These are two of my favourite photos of my son, as they show his personality. The one on top, is really not a smile. It was taken while he was complaining of gas discomfort at four weeks. Yet, it came out looking like a big smile, and I love it! The cut-out circle I made one day, for no particular reason and then left knocking around my craft table for weeks, until I picked up my Zision Chizzel-It, and decided to use it as an experiment in distressing paper. I thought it came out beautiful, but then I didn#8217t know what to do with it for another three weeks. That is, until it made its way into this layout.

Dayo For Granny

lj-music: Madagascar on VLC

This is the fourth layout I#8217ve done in the lasy month, and easily the best. I love the colours, and the textures in it.

My grandmother wanted me to do a page for her to put up on her bedroom door, and Mother#8217s Day gave me a good excuse. I used a fabulous coated netted ribbon I loved on sight, that I bought at Laurie Dash in Bridgetown, Barbados.

I also used a repeated embossed border along the right side, and embossed baby#8217s feet and hearts on the left lower corner. I used two sides of Brenda Walton#8217s Small Wonder#8217s Boy patterned paper, and a tag from the same collection.

I also used buttons from my mother#8217s awesome button collection, and contrasting ribbon bits to put the final touch on the vellum, which is from the Sweet Pea collection by K&Company.

This is the layout I like best of the few I#8217ve done, since I re-discovered my childhood love of scrapbooking recently.

Death To IE6!

“IE6 is the new Netscape 4. The hacks needed to support IE6 are increasingly viewed as excess freight. Like Netscape 4 in 2000, IE6 is perceived to be holding back the web.”
